For example, an Internet company can insert a PaperClickTM code into its print ad to lead a prospect to a specific web page that provides related details on the product or services mentioned. Alternatively, a publisher can provide additional information, including other resources or updated content without taking up valuable print space, just by adding a PaperClick code at the end of an article. In either case, when the reader reaches the linked web page, the information is right on the screen, eliminating a frustrating URL or site search. The codes are read by either being scanned directly into a PC by using a bar code scanner, such as the A.T. Cross NetPenTM or the Welch Allyn Model 6180 corded wand.
