Lithium metal oxides nanowires (e.g. LiCoO2 and LiNi1-XCoXO2) will be fabricated using electrochemical processing. Electrochemical fabrication of nanowires using anodized alumina nano-membranes as template materials is a very cost effective process that lends itself to manufacturability. The dimension of nanowires including the diameter and the length of nanowires can be precisely controlled and the structure of nanowires can be optimized to increase the capacities, with charge/discharge rates greater than 100 times that of conventional electrodes. Our fabrication processes also eliminate the need of a binder by fabricating the nanowires directly on top of the current collectors.

Assignor assigned all rights, title and interest in and to a patent application (serial number 11/089781, filed on March 25, 2005) for a battery technology developed by Dr. Sung H. Choi, our Technical Advisor.  This patent application, entitled Lithium Ion Rechargeable Battery Based on Nanostructures, was assigned to us by Dr. Choi in consideration for the issuance to him of an aggregate of 2,000,000 shares of our common stock plus an annual royalty of five percent of net sales of the products resulting from the technology.  We have certain minimum annual royalty payments to Dr. Choi pursuant to the Technology and Patent Assignment.

The licensed products include motive power batteries and chargers, including, without limitation, batteries and chargers for industrial forklift trucks, other materials handling equipment and wheelchairs; stationary batteries and chargers, including, without limitation, standby batteries and power supply equipment for wireless and wireline telecommunications applications, such as central telephone exchanges, microwave relay stations, and switchgear and other instrumentation control systems; uninterruptible power systems (including, without limitation, batteries for computer, electronic, security, computer, life support and other medical applications);  motorcycle and other small engine starting batteries, such as batteries for snowmobiles, lawn and garden tractors and personal watercraft, and including batteries for starting small internal combustion engines used for auxiliary charging power for electric vehicles, but excluding other automobile and truck starting batteries; and related battery accessories, including, without limitation, cabinets and battery racks and trays; and any other products manufactured by Licensee at the time of execution of this agreement, and any and all future improvements, developments and innovations with respect to any of the foregoing made by the Parties during the term of this Agreement.
