License Grant
Pursuant to the Joint Venture agreement, upon the Japanese Licensor granting of sublicense to the New Joint Venture relating to LEP Polymer or ink containing the LEP Polymer.
License Property
The Licensor owns or controls technology regarding devices and related materials related to Polymer Light Emitting Diodes (PLED) and wish to cooperate with Licensee in order to facilitate the development and commercialization of PLED Materials in connection with the early establishment of the PLED industry.

“PLED Materials” means light emitting materials, materials related to light emission and ink formulations thereof. The term PLED Materials includes, but is not limited to

(a)
light emitting polymers, dendrimers and hybrids;

(b)
hole transport materials;

(c)
interlayer materials and buffer layer materials; and

(d)
ink formulations thereof.

Licensor is the owner of certain inventions relating to dendrimer materials, in respect of which Licensor has obtained and made applications for patent protection in various countries.

Licensor has acquired the exclusive right to sub-license certain inventions relating to dendrimer materials, in respect of which patent protection has been obtained or applied for in various countries.

Dendrimer means a molecule comprising one light emitting core and at least one conjugated and branched chain.

The products mean Dendrimers, Hybrids, Blends, Polymer Metal Complexes, Light Emitting Metal Complexes and Special Blends.

Field of Use
This agreement is for the field of light emitting materials and devices where light Is used as a means of communicating information to a display medium and the production of light for general illumination or other light applications including photovoltaic and other non-display/lighting organic semiconductor applications.

Our P-OLED technology has the potential to drive OLED adoption by significantly lowering the cost of producing OLED displays. P-OLED materials are solution processable, which enables them to be deposited on panels using processes such as high precision ink jet printing.

P-OLED materials can form stable solutions in organic solvents, making inks which can be deposited in pixel patterns using ink-jet and other printing techniques. Low-cost spin-coating is also available for monochrome or area color displays.

P-OLEDs are part of the family of Organic Light Emitting Diodes, or OLEDs, which are matrixes of organic diodes that emit light when an electric current flows. OLEDs are thin, lightweight and power efficient devices used in flat panel displays, or FPDs, and other applications. P-OLEDs offer an enhanced visual experience compared with alternative FPD technologies, such as liquid crystal displays, or LCD.

IPSCIO Record ID: 2138

License Grant
The Company entered into an agreement to cross-license and pool technologies.  The agreement gives the Company exclusive world-wide license to manufacture flat panel displays using the joint technology as well as rights to royalties on sales of the technology.  In January 1995, the agreement was modified to make the Company solely responsible for licensing the technology and gave the Company the ability to maintain its exclusive rights to the technology by paying a fee and royalties.

IPSCIO Record ID: 25893

License Grant
The agreement is directed toward inventions and discoveries relating to FLCs and FLC materials. The Licensee has an exclusive worldwide License to technology so developed and the University is entitled to royalties on sales of products and materials incorporating the Licensed technology.
License Property
The Licensee's microdisplays combine proprietary ferroelectric liquid crystal, or FLC, chemical mixtures with commercially available silicon to create ferroelectric liquid crystal on silicon, or FLCOS, technology. The highly controllable optical properties of the FLC mixtures offer an image quality in the viewfinder of digital still cameras and video camcorders that may be superior to other available electronic viewfinders.
Field of Use
The Licensee designs, develops and markets microdisplays used today primarily as electronic viewfinders in digital still cameras and video camcorders. Microdisplays are an emerging display technology based on very small display panels that are magnified or projected through the use of optics.

IPSCIO Record ID: 204360

License Grant

License Property
The licensed product is an OLED Light Source, or any portion thereof that consists minimally of a Permitted OLED Device.

OLED means a device consisting of two or more electrodes, at least one of which is transparent, together with one or more chemical substances deposited between these two electrodes, at least one of which is an organic or organometallic material, which device emits light when a voltage is applied across the electrodes.

Lighting” means a source of direct or indirect illumination, including, but not limited to, a room, area or architectural lighting source, a backlight for an LCD display or other consumer electronics product, or a source of illumination for signage; provided, however, that the source of illumination shall not itself be intended to display movable or changeable images or information (e.g., a passive matrix or active matrix display).
