The 'Invention' means all inventions, proprietary developments, data and/or information owned as of the Effective Date by IU-ARTI relating to Method and Apparatus Providing Improved Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer Resolution, Invention Number 9404.
Time-of-flight mass spectrometry is a method of mass spectrometry in which an ion's mass-to-charge ratio is determined via a time measurement. Ions are accelerated by an electric field of known strength.
5,504,326 Spatial-Velocity Correlation Focusing in Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry
5,510,613 Spatial-Velocity Correlation Focusing in Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry
5,712,479 Spatial-Velocity Correlation Focusing in Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry
IPSCIO Record ID: 2125
Mass spectrometry is an important technique for the analysis of chemicals in a wide variety of industries such as pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, polymer and consumer products. Mass spectrometry is used to identify unknown chemicals, quantify known materials, and to determine the structural and chemical properties of molecules. It determines the mass-to-charge ratio of ions by measuring the time it takes for the ion to reach the detector.
